Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the cooler weather (even here in Miami) and can never seem to get enough pumpkin everything, from lattes to muffins. In honor of #WeddingWednesday and the First Week of Fall, I thought that today’s blog would focus on Fall Wedding Trends. Fall is a very popular season for couples to get married because of the rich color palettes and favorable weather. It’s not too hot and not too cold so many brides feel that it’s the perfect time of year!
1. Lacey Long Sleeves.
Fall starts the slow transition to cooler weather. Adding a delicate lace sleeve to your look is an elegant way to keep warm with dropping temperatures. Ever since Kate Middleton wore lace sleeves to her 2011 wedding this trend has been huge in any season but I think it’s particularly best for fall. Sometimes your bridal boutique or dress designer can make you a lace jacket or shrug so you have the flexibility to change up your look during the night.
2. Jewel Tone Bridesmaid Dresses.
Make sure your leading ladies are dressed for the season by opting for darker colored bridesmaid dresses. Jewel tones as well as a deep navy or gray are great fall colors. Also imagine how beautiful their bouquets can be to compliment their dresses.
3. Go for a Bold Lip.
Fall is the time to add a pop of color to your pout! Berries and bright reds are the perfect complement to a white or cream dress. If you decide to go for this look keep the rest of your makeup simple.
4. Warm Guests are Happy Guests.
Fall days mean chilly evenings. Have pashminas or cashmere blankets on hand for guests to combat the cool night air. These accessories can even be made as part of your decor.
5. The Hot Toddy.
Embrace the season with fall’s signature cocktails. One of my personal favorites is spiked hot apple cider. But if you’re like me and still can’t part with Champagne? Spice it up with cinnamon sticks or apple slices.
7. Pumpkin Sweets.
Most people wait all year for Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte to come around. Give guests a taste of the season with pumpkin baked goods for dessert. Do you have a favorite fall wedding trend? Tweet to me @JaimieHilfiger and let me know!
